Housing for Seniors

- Notre Dame Senior Plaza Housing: 347 Dolores St. at 16th St. Mercy Housing has announced that it is opening the wait list as of September 1 to 8 onsite from 9am to 4pm (closed 9/6 Labor Day). 66 studios and one-bedroom units. Qualified applicants must be 62 years and older. Low income seniors qualify. Maximum income limit for one person is $37,650 and for two persons is $43,000. Up to 500 qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list, order determined by random drawing on 10/15/10. - Geary Blvd. Senior Housing, "The Coronet" - The Institute on Aging and BRIDGE Housing are working together to develop a new senior housing facility with support services at 3575 Geary Blvd. near Arguello.  There will be 150 independent living spaces for seniors of modest income and those with special needs. Scheduled to open in 2010. AVAILABLE AFFORDABLE RENTAL UNITS

 

The following restricted rental units are currently available for rent under the oversight of the Mayor’s Office of Housing. If you are interested in any of these units, please contact the person listed below directly. The San Francisco Redevelopment Agency offers a second source of Below Market Rate (BMR) housing in San Francisco.

You must gather your paystubs, bank/asset statements and tax forms from last year in order to apply for a BMR rental unit. You must apply for each new development as it comes up. (There is not a waiting list.)

Please read through the listings below for complete information on units that are currently available.  Then please review the BMR rental program in more detail on the MOH website by clicking here. Please feel free to call the MOH office at anytime with questions at 415-701-5500 but please first contact the rental manager for each new unit for an application and basic information on the units. They are your first point of contact.

    Section 8: The San Francisco Housing Authority is no longer maintaining a property listing database.

    Landlords are able to submit their listing of an available unit by using the free service offered by GoSection8.com. This service allows tenants, landlords, and the housing authority to easily access information on available units.

    Caritas Management posts new housing opportunities at 1358 Valencia St. in SF every Monday in the lobby.  Every building has various age and income requirements.  Information can be obtained by going into the office directly.
