Senior University

We must become the change we wish to see in the world.
First they ignore us.
Then they laugh at you,
Then they fight you,
Then you win……………Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi
Senior Action Network's (SAN) Senior University trains seniors, (60 +) and adults with disabilities in San Francisco in community organizing skills, leadership, and empowerment. Classes are offered throughout San Francisco in English, Cantonese, Russian, and Spanish.
Each year Senior Action Network provides six Senior University sessions that meet once a week for four weeks each. Each session includes lessons on leadership such as how to conduct an effective meeting, public speaking, lobbying, and leadership. Each session focuses on important senior issues concerning housing, health care, pedestrian safety, public transportation, or the environment. Graduates of Senior University follow up on their training by becoming involved in community organizing activities, taking leadership roles in their neighborhoods and communities, and volunteering in organizations serving seniors and adults with disabilities in San Francisco.
Senior University classes are fun and exciting, refreshments and lunches are provided, and ALL CLASSES ARE FREE!
